Jewelry Discount!

On Etsy, once you list an item for sale, you usually have a certain amount of time before that item “expires”.  Back when I first opened my shop in late November, I mainly listed jewelry since I wasn’t making hair accessories to sell at that time.  It gave me until around April 1st to sell it all off. Unfortunately, April 1st is right around the corner and I still have a majority of my jewelry on the site.

Sure, I can relist it all for another twenty cents per listing. But, I’ve made the decision to focus on hair accessories (and another product that I’m still working on at the moment), so I’m giving up the jewelry making. In the area I live in, I don’t have awesome craft stores where I can get the nice jewelry supplies that I need.  So, I’ve decided to make the shift to letting go of the jewelry.

That means I need to sell off the jewelry I have in my shop by this week. I activated a 15% off coupon code for my jewelry.  None of my jewelry is more than 12 dollars, so that’s not a bad price. If interested, use coupon code: JEWELRYDISCOUNT.

Here’s what you can find:

And there’s lots more so go check them out by clicking here! 🙂

Later today, I’m going to post my weekly Seller Spotlight, so stay tuned for that!

Seller Spotlight: Vic Designs

This Seller Spotlight is coming to you a day late. Yesterday, things were so chaotic that I completely forgot about it. Sorry about that, but no worries because here it is!  Today, we are focusing on a very cute scrapbook and card making shop called Vic Designs! Here is Vic Designs shop announcement on Etsy:

“My shop specializes in pre made scrapbook pages, mini scrapbook albums, die cuts and paper goods. I create all of my items. Everything is unique and handmade. I provide high quality items to help you treasure your most important memories.”

1) Mitzy Tompkins, Shop: Vic Designs
2) I am from Rancho Cucamonga, CA
3) I make pre made scrapbook pages that can be used in any scrapbooks. My pages are all unique and I make them myself. I also make paper flowers to use as embellishments in scrapbooks, presents, favor bags, invitations, etc.
4) My shop is mainly for scrapbooking and people that are interested in making scrapbooks but don’t have the time. They can buy these pre made pages that they can include in their scrapbooks. I feel that scrapbooks that are handmade carry more sentimental value than digital scrapbooks. I put a lot of thought and care into all of my pages.
5) I started scrapbooking 8 years ago. My first album was for my nephew. I wanted to store all of our special memories with him in an album that he could look through when he was grown. My family and friends saw that album and asked me to create one for them. I was doing it as a hobby and not charging since I had a full time job. My job duties took over and I stopped scrapbooking. I am glad I saved all of my materials and started again just a few weeks ago. I recently became unemployed and a lot has changed with the internet. ETSY gives me the opportunity to make these scrapbook pages and sell them to the public. Scrapbooking gives me the opportunity to create what I have a passion for. I feel blessed to be able to create these pages and hopefully my shop will pick up business.
6) ETSY offers a wide variety of things that I am interested in. I love the fact that I can find scrapbooking materials that are different and at reasonable prices. Sometimes going to the store can get a little pricey. Some of my favorite things are bags, clothing, knitting, paper making, and jewelry.

Happy Mother's Day Cards Set of 3

Spring 12x12 pre made scrapbook page

Butterflies 12x12 pre made scrapbook page

Lovely Hearts Handmade Paper Flowers Set of Four Scrapbooking Embellishments

Spring Inspires Me

Officially Spring starts next week.  But, I’ve been feeling the Spring time weather here in southern Missouri (with nice weather in the 80’s!), so to me, Spring is already here.

I have always found Spring time very inspiring.  There’s something special about the trees and flowers blooming. Personally, I tend to thrive in the Spring/Summer months.  It seems that perhaps my creativity kicks in even more when warm weather hits.

I guess I’m also inspired by spring colors. I’ve always loved the bright colors of pink, yellow, green, blue, etc. The brighter, the better! So, I only felt that it was appropriate to make sure my shop reflects my love for spring.

Here’s some proof of that!

This is my newest hair clip called “Spring Dots Flower Hair Clip”.   The colors are so bright and work well with each other. I think it would make a really cute hair accessory for a young girl who loves colorful things.

A close up view of the flower!

Now moving on to another spring inspired hair clip.

This one is called Sunshine Yellow Flower Hair Clip.  It’s very bright and I think the turquoise rhinestone in the center really helps contrast the yellow.

You can find both of these hair clips in my shop for $6.50 each.

Also, I have some Spring hair clips sets for those who love a nice bargain.

You can get this small spring Flower hair clip set for $6.00.

And you can get this Spring Daisies Flower Hair Clip set for $7.00.

I should probably also mention that I currently have a free shipping code out to celebrate the arrival of spring! So, if you don’t want to be bothered with pesky shipping costs, make sure to take advantage of this offer by putting in coupon code: SPRINGFREESHIPPING.

Check out all of these items in my etsy shop by clicking here!

Materials I Love To Work With

Every “crafter” has favorite materials that they like. Mine tends to change a lot when I discover new things, but that’s part of the fun!  Here are some of my favorite materials:

Beads and charms.  My mother used to make beaded jewelry when I was younger. Now, she can’t really make them since she has cataracts in both of her eyes and can’t see well enough to put the small beads on a thin string.  I guess you could say that I’m taking over and developed my love for beaded jewelry. Of course, I put my own twist on it and add a cute charm to it.

Ribbon. I have become obsessed with ribbon. Every time I go to my local Wal-Mart I head to the craft department and get at least three spools of ribbon to add to my collection. I love making hair bows out of them.

Yellow Rhinestone Flower Hair Clip

Silk flowers. My sister-in-law was the first in the family to make flower hair clips and then I kind of took over after she started making custom painted shoes. They’re easy to work with and people like the bright colors. It’s definitely a cute spring time look!

Rhinestones. I love anything that makes something sparkle. Rhinestones tend to do the job really well without making a huge mess like loose glitter. Loose glitter tends to get everywhere and stays there no matter how much you clean it up. I learned that the hard way haha.

Organza ribbon. I just started working with this kind of ribbon after finding a tutorial to make a spiky organza hair bow.  I love how the ribbon is sheer and it makes for a very classy and shiny bow. I decided to make a hair bow of my own out of it and here’s what it looks like.

One of my favorite bows, the Hot Pink Organza Hair Bow which you can find in my etsy shop right now if you like it!

And the last thing I enjoy working with is…

Tulle. I’ve also recently discovered working with tulle. Ever since, I’ve been making my own version of a “Tutu Hair Bow”. The other week, I found sparkly tulle at Hobby Lobby so of course considering how much I love things that sparkle,  I had to get some and I’m glad I did! That kind of tulle makes for a really cute hair accessory.  I’ve made two custom bows for my nieces with the purple and pink bows:

And I made this black one to put in my etsy shop:

Here’s a better look of the glitter in that bow:

I do take custom order of the Organza Hair Bows and the Tutu Hair Bows listed above. So, if you have a daughter (sister, niece, cousin, granddaughter, etc…) that likes a specific color, please contact me at glitteringtreasuresjewelry@gmail.com and we’ll discuss the options!  I really love making those bows and I make sure each one is perfect!  If you’re on etsy, you can also contact me here.

So, what kinds of materials do you like to work with? Comment below with your picks! I would love to hear them.

New Product Showcase

I just wanted to show off some more of the “Tutu Hair Bows” that I have been making!

Sky blue. 🙂

Pink and green.

Lime green!

And the following two I currently have in my etsy shop right now!

Pretty in Pink.

Blue and green.

This week, I have to complete orders for two purple and pink tutu hair bows for my sister-in-law. I also have to make two organza hair bows for a friend.  It may be a busy week haha.

Keep in mind that I do make custom orders for those who like what they see, but may want their bows in a different color. Contact me and we’ll talk about it!  They are perfect gifts for girls especially those who dance. I can definitely try and match the bow to their dance outfit if possible!

This isn’t a tulle hair bow, but it is something that is now in my etsy shop. Another perfect Spring gift!  I took inspiration from my mom who loves pinning pretty things to her handbag. So I made this yellow rhinestone flower pin:

This is what it looks like on a tote bag of mine!

It’s bright, sunny, and very pretty! It also looks really nice on a cardigan or coat. I loved it so much I made a purple one for myself. 🙂 You can find that in my etsy shop by clicking here.

Everything in my etsy shop is 10% off with coupon code: SPRINGISHERE. It’s valid until March 17th so use it before it expires!

Tomorrow, I will be posting the first Etsy Shop Spotlight! I’m pretty excited and hopefully more shop owners will want to have their shop spotlighted here as well! If you’re one of them, contact me either in the comment section or by e-mailing me at glitteringtreasuresjewelry@gmail.com

Calling All Etsy Shop Owners!

I understand how hard it can be to get noticed on etsy. It’s not easy when you feel like you have to “compete” with fellow shop owners to get traffic and sales to be successful.  So, I am opening up my blog for guests to post about their store, what they make, and showcase a few of their items from their store. It’s the perfect way to promote your product to another audience.

Here are some things you should include with your post:

  1. Your name and shop name
  2. Where you are from
  3. What you make
  4. What your shop is about
  5. What made you start making your products
  6. Some of your favorite things you have seen on etsy
  7. A photo of yourself (optional. I understand some people don’t like their photos on the internet.)
  8. At least 3 of the listings you want to showcase in your guest post. Maximum amount is 6.

Please e-mail your posts to glitteringtreasuresjewelry@gmail.com.  You can also comment below with any questions or to sign up for a post. I hope to have an etsy seller showcase on here at least once a week!

I’m also looking to guest posting on other blogs as well, so if you’re interested in that as well, I’d be more than happy to do that!  I’d really appreciate it. 🙂
